7 Things to Know Before Your First Golf Lesson

Here are 7 things to know before your first golf lesson, so you can walk in feeling relaxed, prepared, and ready to get swinging.
1. You Don’t Need Any Experience
Seriously — none. Good coaches are used to working with total beginners. Whether you’ve played once, never picked up a club, or just want to break bad habits, your lesson will be tailored to you.
2. You Don’t Need Clubs (Unless You Want to Bring Them)
Most venues and coaches will have clubs available for you to use, especially if it’s your first time. If you already own a set, feel free to bring them — but it’s not essential.
3. Wear Something Comfortable (and Golf-Appropriate)
Golf lessons don’t require full-on kit, but it’s best to wear clothes you can move in — like a polo, smart joggers or chinos, and trainers. If your venue has a dress code, we’ll let you know beforehand.
4. Expect to Hit Fewer Balls Than You Think
