About Gavin
Gavin grew up with golf in his blood, representing Wales as a junior amateur and playing off scratch-level ability as a teenager. That playing background gives him something most golf writers don't have: he knows what it actually feels like to compete.
Background
Gavin has been passionate about golf since the age of 12, quickly developing his game and earning recognition at a young age. By just 15 years old, he was playing off a handicap of 5 and representing Wales and North Wales as a junior amateur, competing against some of the region's best young players.
One of his early highlights came when he won a long drive competition in an adult tournament at the age of just 13, earning a Wilson driver signed by major champion Padraig Harrington.
Gavin has also achieved a hole in one at Abergele Golf Club, a moment every golfer hopes to experience at least once. His best competitive round is a 71 at Wrexham Golf Club, showcasing the strong scoring ability he developed during his playing years.
Golf has remained a lifelong passion for Gavin, shaping both his competitive spirit and his connection to the game.
